KENYA KUPELEKA VIKOSI SUDAN KUSINI

Kamati Kuu ya Usalama Nchini Kenya imependekeza kwa bunge liidhinishe nyongeza ya idadi ya wanajeshi wake wa kudumisha amani walioko nchini Sudan Kusini, chini ya kivuli cha Umoja wa Mataifa, kwa majeshi 310.

Kamati hiyo chini ya uenyekiti wa Rais Uhuru Kenyatta imesema imechukua hatua hiyo kufuatia ombi la baraza la usalama la Umoja wa Mataifa lililofanywa Desemba 24, mwaka jana.

Katika taarifa iliyotolewa na msemaji wa ikulu ya Nairobi usiku wa kuamkia leo, kamati hiyo ambayo imekutana kwa mara ya kwanza tangu Rais Uhuru Kenyatta kuanza utawala wake mwaka mmoja uliopita ilisema kuwa Kenya itawatoa wanajeshi wengine ili kufanya idadi ya wanajeshi wake walioko Sudan Kusini kufikia 1,000.

Taarifa hiyo ilieleza wazi kuwa wanajeshi wa Kenya wanaingia huko chini ya Umoja wa Kimataifa na wala sio kama taifa huru.

Itakumbukwa kuwa mara tu baada ya mapigano ya wenyewe kwa wenyewe kuanza kati ya jeshi la Sudan Kusini linalomuunga mkono Rais Salva Kiir na wanajeshi waasi wanaomuunga mkono makamu wa rais wa zamani Daktari Riek Machar, Uganda iliwatuma wanajeshi nchini humo kuunga mkono Rais Salva Kiir.
